byRisk strategically pursues a dual goal: on the one hand, to help SMEs to identify and analyse the data protection and privacy risks occurring in the context of their data processing operations; on the other hand, to raise awareness regarding data protection and privacy risks to a vast spectrum of stakeholders, including SMEs and the general public.
In order to reach its goals, the byRisk project strives to achieve the following objectives:
Objective #1: Establishment of a comprehensive taxonomy of data protection and privacy risks, and identify the optimum channels for the communication of these risks to the SMEs and the data subjects.
Objective #2: Development of a Risk Assessment Tool, particularly tailored for SMEs, that will provide the means for the identification and analysis of the data protection and privacy risks in an intuitive manner, leveraging context-aware questionnaires.
Objective #3: Development of a Risk Awareness Tool, targeting the general public, in order to foster data subjects, awareness of data protection and privacy risks through appropriate visualisations of the risks, the associated harms, as well as precautions and countermeasures.
Objective #4: Operation and maintenance of the two tools during the second year of the project, along with monitoring and assessment for their improvement and maximisation of their effectiveness, impact and future potential.
Objective #5: Develop and implement an awareness-raising strategy, targeting the general public and other stakeholders
Objective #6: Maximisation of byRisk impact, through dissemination, networking and sustainability of project results. byRisk aims at being a project of high impact in the Greek society, with a European dimension.
